US hotel occupancy rates climbed year on year in the week from December 14th to 20th, according to new statistics released by STR.

The figure rose by 5.9 per cent to 49.5 per cent for the seven-day period, with the biggest upturn seen in the San Francisco/San Mateo, California region, where occupancy increased by more than a third to 80.9 per cent.
